- From Joensuu take the road no 6 northbound, signposted Kajaani. Continue for approx 13km.
- Turn right onto road no 73, signposted Lieksa/Eno. Continue for approx 19km.
- Turn left onto 518, signposted Lieksa/Ahveninen. Proceed for 29km.
- Turn left onto 73, signposted Lieksa. Proceed for approx 10km.
- (Do NOT take a turn signposted Vuonislahti but continue to a turn signposted Vuonisjärvi.)
- Take a left turn to Vuonisjärvi at Isäntärenki farm. Proceed for 0.9km.
- Turn left onto a narrow lane signposted Saunaniementie. Continue for 2km.
- Finally, turn right and follow the lane down a steep hill for 300m. You'll see the house at the end of the lane.
From the north (Nurmes):
Google Maps route from Nurmes
- From Nurmes take the road no 73 southbound, signposted Lieksa.
- Continue along 73 past Lieksa and follow the signs to Joensuu, still on no 73. Continue approx 25km from Lieksa.
- Do NOT take the first turn from 73 to Vuonisjärvi at Vuonisjärvi/Emo junction but keep going for 1 km and turn right to Vuonisjärvi at Vuonisjärvi/Julkuvaara junction, at Isäntärenki farm.
- Turn left onto a narrow lane signposted Saunaniementie. Continue for 2km.
- Finally, turn right and follow the lane down a steep hill for 300m. You'll see the house at the end of the lane.
